Farm experience.
A mapping mind.
Batten is owned and developed by DatumEdge Ltd in New Zealand.
It started with
“there must be an easier way”.
Raised by sharemilkers and working as a farm hand on Waikato dairy farms, Batten’s founder knows how much useful knowledge lives in someone else’s head.
Now living on his wife’s family farm, his interest in digital mapping led to a simple question: could finding things on a farm be easier?
Helping with his wife’s asset-management consultancy brought another perspective. Combine that with a love of technology and problem solving, and the idea for Batten took shape.

Built with farmers
doing the work.
Trial farms help us understand what is useful, what is awkward and what would make a real difference.
DatumEdge is the team behind Batten and the team helping you use it. Access to your farm data for support requires your approval in the app or an accepted invitation.
